Tara Hatfield

Operations Manager

Tara grew up in mid-coast Maine before earning her bachelor’s degree at Bates College and a Master’s in Education from the University of New Hampshire. Her career in education began at PCA, where she taught 5th grade for several years before taking time to homeschool and raise her three children. She later rejoined PCA, serving in Upper School administration for seven years.

A long-time member of DEC, Tara began attending in 1995 and married her husband, Keith, here in 1997. Together, they have raised three children—now young adults—who grew up at DEC. Over the years, Tara has served in various ministries at DEC, including small group leadership, kids and youth ministry, global outreach, and family ministry.

Outside of work and ministry, Tara loves being outdoors during New England’s summer and fall seasons. She also enjoys coffee, long walks, the beach, good books, traveling, baking, pickleball and tennis.
