Global Perspectives on Service
Thursday, August 12th, 2010
Sunday afternoons 3-5PM, September 12 through December 19
We are convinced that God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any Christian.
Sign ups at the Info Center August 15-29th or register online at short.durhame.org/gps.
Cost is $30 for materials. Childcare may be available upon request.
Email globaloutreach@durhame.org for more info.

The love of Christ controls us. 2 Cor 5:14
Would you like to really believe the truth about your identity in Christ,
who God is, and how He calls us to live? Are you willing to allow God to
show you how much He loves you and wants that love to control your entire life?
The Search for Significance is a ten-week discipleship course
for adults based on the book by Robert S. McGee
that equips the believer with tools to identify the lies we believe,
replace them with life-giving truths, and live a life of greater freedom in Christ.
10 Sundays from 4:00 – 6:30pm
Sept 12 to Nov 14, 2010
Cost: $30 for book & materials
FMI: Search@durhame.org
Note: The class is intensive and requires a commitment
to attend all ten classes but is well worth the investment!

PC Clinic

Is your Windows PC running poorly? Are you safe from malicious intruders?
The dec Tech Team can help!
Saturday, July 24, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Youth Room
The PC Clinic is an opportunity for you to bring in your ‘sick’ Windows PC and have some basic diagnostics test preformed. The dec Tech Team will run your system though a multi-point safety/security checklist to insure your system is protected. This ministry is for dec attenders, friends and neighbors. We use this opportunity to minister and reach out to our community by inviting them in with their computers that need attention. We will not be preaching to anyone or questioning why someone hasn’t been to church for ages, we simply will be serving them by looking at this computer and building relationships with our community. FMI: tech.team@durhame.org
Disclaimer: we cannot guarantee we’ll be able to fix every problem. DEC Tech Team members are not certified PC technicians but will insure best practices when working on your system.

National Day of Prayer, May 6th
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010
So tomorrow, May 6th, is the National Day of Prayer. Last Thursday night our men’s group decided to open up this Thursday’s gathering to the entire congregation to dedicate this evening to pray for our country. We’d like to open that door to anyone who is interested. What we will be doing is this… at 6:30 pm we gather by town to pray for our communities for half an hour. In Dover, Durham, Newmarket, Barrington, and S. Berwick we have people planning to gather at the town halls. Join us at one of those, or pray at your own town hall. Then we are all going to gather at 7:30 in the youth wing here at DEC to pray for our land. We’d love to have you join us (at either venue or both).

Everyone is invited to join us for a pancake breakfast immediately following the sunrise service back at the church.
