20-Something Service Opportunity

On Saturday, August 29 the dec 20 Somethings will serve the residents of Bellamy Fields by playing games with them and doing crafts. Interested? Meet at the Portsmouth Christian Academy parking lot at 1:55pm, to car pool over to Bellamy.
After Bellamy, we head over to Cafe on the Corner around 4pm for fellowship, snacks, and board games.

The Truth, and Nothing But

Coming this fall to dec: Adult Ministries is presenting the Truth Project, a 12 week video curriculum examining our world from a Biblical perspective and exploring the relevance and importance of applying the Christian worldview in daily life. Enrollment is limited. The course will be on Sundays, beginning September 27, at 11:30 AM at the Milk House. Search for Significance is a ten week discipleship course for adults. It is based on the book by Robert S. McGee called The Search for Significance. The focus of the class is to help people identify lies that they may be believing for the purpose of replacing them with truth and enabling freedom from sin by pointing them to Christ and God’s truths. Practical tools are introduced in the class to help in this lifelong process.
Please Note:
- This course in very intensive and requires a high level of commitment.
- The course is highly structured,with each lesson building on the one before.
- The course is visual, creative, reflective and interactive, and attempts to engage the whole person rather than just the ‘intellect’
- Each class includes a time of teaching, group time with 4 to 6 people, and ends with prayer, reflection, and worship.
- Each week includes a reading assignment and a life application exercise
Registration is from August 16th to August 30th. The course runs Sundays, Sept 13 through November 15. The cost is $30 per person.

Join us as we develop a strong united partnership with UNH Students and local churches as we pray together to spread the word of the Gospel, break down strongholds, and support students in prayer.
When: August 22nd from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. We’ll be there, rain or shine.
What: Student Led Prayer Walk
Where: Meeting at the UNH Clock Tower located in the center of campus on Main Street, otherwise known as T-Hall.

Do you know someone who’d like to attend dec, but has difficulty traveling due to a disability? We offer wheelchair accessible transportation to our Sunday Services. Please contact us by the Wednesday prior to the Sunday you’d like to attend by emailing disabilities@durhame.org, and we’ll do all we can to see you join us in worship.

Having trouble managing your money? Does it seem that no matter how much you make, you’re always spread too thin? Well then, pardon our web-speak, but FPU might B4U. Financial Peace University is a Biblically-based accountability curriculum that teaches you how to make wise decisions with your money.
If that sounds interesting, join us for a sneak preview and Q&A session on Sunday, August 30th. We’ll be having these sneak peaks after each service in the Youth Room (i.e. approximately 9:15 – 9:45 AM, 11:00 -11:30 AM, and following third service.)
Financial Peace University will run for 13 weeks, every Sunday from September 20th – December 13th, from 4-6 PM. Course materials cost $100 per family group. For more information (FMI on FPU!), contact financialpeace@durhame.org
