MMI 1000K to benefit Dorcas Center
Wednesday, September 8th, 2010Do you like to walk?run?bike? Would you like an activity to do with your small group? The children of Mali need you! On September 18th from 10-4 at DEC, we will be having a walk/run/bikathon to raise money for the Dorcas Childrens Center. You do not have to ask for money! All we need is your mileage. When we have collectively reached 1000K an anonymous donor will give $5000 to the construction of this center. As an added incentive; come on Saturday and you will get a free water bottle, recruit and bring four friends with you** and you can earn a t-shirt. You do not have to do the entire 10K course, do any amount you like, it all counts and you dont have to ask for money or collect anything. You can even walk at home that day, just let us know what your mileage is. Get your small group active and supporting the orphans of Mali to jumpstart your fall together. All ages are welcome.
**all 5 people need to show up on Saturday and sign in together to earn the T, we will take the orders then.

Global Perspectives on Service
Thursday, August 12th, 2010Sunday afternoons 3-5PM, September 12 through December 19
We are convinced that God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any Christian.
Sign ups at the Info Center August 15-29th or register online at short.durhame.org/gps.
Cost is $30 for materials. Childcare may be available upon request.
Email globaloutreach@durhame.org for more info.
