What is a connect group?

A connect group is a group of Christian people coming together to connect over common interests. These groups are organized by volunteers and are not formal ministries of DEC.

How do I start one?

If you have an idea for a community group that you would like to lead, contact Tom Froning:

Who can go to a connect group?

Anyone! If you have an interest in a connect group you are welcome to join. There are emails available under each connect group for you to contact someone and ask about that group and their meeting time.

The Durham Evangelical Church Homeschool Group exists to support and encourage those at Durham Evangelical Church who are educating their children at home. We seek to provide a mentoring environment to help others grow and mature during this stage of life.

Ministry Verse: Colossians 3:16, 17 – Let the word of God dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Encourage each other in the task of homeschooling, walking closely with the Lord, pursuing His strength daily, and prioritizing the Word of God, keeping it central in our lives, as well as in the education of our children.

Help homeschoolers to connect, develop relationships and share ideas pertinent to the education and spiritual growth of our children at home.

Reach out to those who do not currently have a church home and are in need of homeschooling support.

Be an informative resource for those investigating the option of educating their children at home.
